FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – NATURAL GAS INDUSTRY – EDEN PRAIRIE, MN Nelson Technologies is currently looking for the right individual to join our team of natural gas pipeline & distribution field service technicians. This position will involve direct contact with customers to determine required service work and travel to job sight to perform field service. Job Responsibilities Perform startup, maintenance, operate and troubleshoot natural gas equipment including water bath heaters, odorizers, control valves, relief valves, regulators, gas meters and RTU’s, etc. Provide technical assistance to customers Maintain Operator Qualification (OQ) certifications and become an OQ Evaluator Fill out and upload job completion reports Provide customer field and classroom product training Perform tubing and fitting installation on instrumentation in the shop and in the field Provide technical support to Neltech sales personnel Attend manufacturer sales meetings and trade shows as necessary Understand, review, and comply with state and federal pipeline safety regulations Perform Other Duties as Assigned Requirements The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position. Education/Experience: Four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Ability: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and vendors. Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as measurements, proportions, and percentages. Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Laptop Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, ACT (contact database), and be able to work with manufacturer product software, etc. Submit to a pre-employment drug test and be included in a random drug screen pool required for DOT safety sensitive positions. Background check required Physical Requirements Able to operate a motor vehicle and the ability to enter and exit vehicle unassisted. Able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time. Able to work in both an office environment and outside field locations including able to tolerate exposure to all weather conditions. Able to travel to work sites including out of town. Travel will in some cases require overnight stays, for service work, meetings, conferences, etc. Able to work more than 40 hours per week, as required, to meet established deadlines and accomplish objectives. Able to operate a laptop, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment. Ability to login to WiFi & Bluetooth.
