Job Description:
About The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the performance of engineering and design activities associated with Utilitra. Summary Of Duties And Responsibilities: Supervises Engineers and Technicians or other direct reports Plans and schedules staff; forecasts labor needs; assigns and delegates work; provides training and practical work experience opportunities; mentors, develops and guides the work of technicians; manages performance, setting standards and holding team(s) accountable for meeting those; demonstrates strong leadership and influencing skills Supervises the construction site, work and feasibility studies Designs and directs the design overhead and underground high voltage electrical systems Supervises field audits for the construction of gas and/or electrical power systems Primary point of contact for customers; consults; responsible for daily contract administration; responds to inquiries and requests; collaborates to resolve problems Assesses risk management and cost optimization to align with project/scope of work specifications Fosters a safe, productive job site environment and quality work products; encourages an attitude of safety and quality in others; redirects those who may attempt to do something in an unsafe way; demonstrates a concern for everyone's safety Presents information to individuals and groups; prepares reports and presentations Manages or assigns the management of projects Business Development activities such as: Builds relationships and networking groups Attends events, meetings and conferences both as a participant and as a vendor Showcases Utilitra skills and services Educates potential customers on what Utilitra can do for them Maintains contact with networks sufficient to be top of mind when they need something Utilitra can provide Brings in new business Ensures the projects Utilitra undertakes are safe, profitable, feasible, and desirable Ensures the work product is quality, timely and efficient Guards product and company reputation by complying with all applicable legal, safety and municipal requirements; serves as an ambassador in the community for Utilitra Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational opportunities, reading professional publications, networking and participating in professional associations Serve as an example for other employees to strive towards and foster a culture of respect, integrity and kindness Other duties as assigned
Experience Required:
Education And/or Experience: Bachelors' degree in electrical engineering 7+ years' experience in electrical engineering with a strong preference for experience with utility-scale electric distribution projects Previous management/supervisory experience is required Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or willingness to obtain licensure is preferred Engineering consulting experience is highly preferred Thorough understanding of electrical projects/work and construction
